Concept
Located on the edge of town, with its back in the woods and its face looking out into the valley, this home has a natural orientation. The main living space is on a second floor, opening up to a large deck to take advantage of near and far views. Downstairs holds two bedrooms and a multi-purpose entertainment/rumpus room that opens to an on-grade patio.
Site
As one of the last undeveloped parcels within the Roslyn city limits, our client felt the responsibility to create a resilient house that could withstand time and the elements. The land connects the town to the public forest, with a well-worn trail along one property line. Ponderosa Pines and Douglas Fir trees intermingle as a mostly evergreen canopy over deciduous shrubs. Winter snowpack can be significant but is usually short-lived, making this a great four-season home.
